This Privacy Policy describes how the Doa dan Dzikir mobile application (“the App”) handles information when you use it on Android. By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy.

Summary

• The App is an offline-first reader for Islamic supplications (doa) and remembrances (dzikir).
• We do not sell your personal data, run advertising SDKs, or require an account.
• Most data stays on your device. Limited data is sent to a third-party prayer-times API only when you enable prayer-time reminders.
• You can disable reminders and revoke location or notification permissions in Android settings at any time.

Information we collect and use

1. Data stored locally on your device

The App stores the following on your device using local storage (MMKV). This data is not uploaded to our servers:

You can clear this data by clearing the App’s storage in Android Settings → Apps → Doa dan Dzikir → Storage, or by uninstalling the App.

2. Device location (optional)

When: Only if you turn on prayer-time reminders in the App.
Why: The App reads your approximate geographic coordinates to request accurate prayer times for your area.
How: Android location permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION). Location is requested when scheduling reminders, not continuously in the background for tracking.
Sharing: Coordinates are included in a request to the Al Adhan prayer-times API (see Third-party services below). We do not store your location on our own servers.

If you deny location permission or disable prayer reminders, the App does not collect location for this purpose.

3. Notifications

When: If you enable quote reminders or prayer-time reminders.
Why: To deliver local reminders on your device.
How: The App uses the Android notification permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS on Android 13+) and the Notifee library to schedule notifications locally. Notification content is generated on-device (e.g., reminder text, links to in-app content).

4. Network use

When: Loading bundled HTML/audio content from the App package, or when prayer reminders are enabled (prayer-times API).
Why: Internet access is used for API calls to Al Adhan and for normal app functionality that may load remote resources referenced in content.
What is not collected by us: We do not operate a login server or analytics backend that receives your browsing history inside the App.

Information we do not collect

We do not intentionally collect:

• Name, email, phone number, or government ID (no account system)
• Contacts, photos, microphone, or SMS
• Payment or financial information (the App is free)
• Precise advertising identifiers for ad targeting

Third-party services

Al Adhan API

When prayer reminders are enabled, the App sends a one-time request per scheduling session to:

The request includes latitude, longitude, date, and calculation method so the API can return prayer times. Al Adhan operates this service under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their servers; please review Al Adhan for more information.

Open-source libraries

The App uses standard React Native libraries (e.g., Notifee for notifications, Geolocation for optional location). These libraries run on your device and do not create a separate account with us.

Children’s privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a registration process because the App has no accounts. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through another channel, contact us and we will address it.

Data retention

• On-device data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall the App.
• Location is not retained on our servers; it is used transiently to call the Al Adhan API when scheduling prayer reminders.
• Third-party API providers may log requests according to their own policies.

Security

We rely on Android’s app sandboxing and HTTPS for API requests. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to keep the App updated through official store releases.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. For this App:

• Turn off reminders in App settings to stop location use for prayer times.
• Revoke permissions in Android Settings (Location, Notifications).
• Delete local data via clear storage or uninstall.
